Chateaugay boys win in soccer

POTSDAM — The Chateaugay boys’ soccer team turned in another strong performance on Saturday in a 4-0 victory over Heuvelton in Northern Athletic Conference non-league play.

Chad Stalter tallied in the first half to give the Bulldogs (6-1, 5-1) a 1-0 lead.

Reed Laplante and Zack Cowan added second-half goals, with Chateaugay also the recipient of an own goal.

Josh Trombley made just three saves in the Chateaugay nets for the shutout. The Bulldogs held a commanding 29-3 shot advantage.

“The kids played an excellent game all around,” Chateaugay coach Bob Ouimet said. “We were able to get good chances. Defensively, we were able to shut them down. The defense has been pretty strong for us all year.”
