Cardinals roll past Clarkson in women's soccer

(Continued)

“We moved Charisse (Abellard) on the field because she runs through stuff,” Waterbury said. “And Emily (LaLone) is always battling out there. So, with those two playing like that, it forces our other midfielders to play that way.

“I was very pleased with the team tonight. It was a nice way to go into our conference schedule, which are the most important games for us. This win was good for our confidence because it has been easy for us to get down with the way things have been going. We really needed this.

“We were able to get a shutout and also everyone on the team some playing time, even though some not a lot.”

The Cardinals begin SUNY Athletic Conference play with a 1 p.m. contest at Potsdam on Saturday.
