The three divisions look to be wide open as the season gets underway with many teams vying for the title.

Beekmantown (Div. I), Chazy (Div. II) and Indian Lake/Long Lake (Div. III) were the divisional winners a season ago.

Plattsburgh captured the Section VII Class B title, while AuSable Valley was the Class C champion. Elizabethtown-Lewis dethroned Chazy for the first time in seven years in Class D.

DIVISION I

AUSABLE VALLEY

The Patriots are coming off a strong season in 2012. AuSable Valley captured the Section VII Class C championship before falling to Hoosick Falls in the state regional finals.

The Patriots will move up to Class B this season, but after a strong run last year and seven starters returning, they could be a factor again this season.

Logan Snow and Priscilla Coats lead the way defensively and will patrol in front of keeper Bryce Douglass. Madison Rondeau and Rachel Knapp will look to control the midfield, while Taylor Saltus and Meghan Strong will continue to be strong finishers.

Players lost

Sumra Sikandar, Hailey Taylor, Marissa Bickford, Sierra Snow, Deanna Dashnaw.

Players returning

Alyssa Baughn, Priscilla Coats, Bryce Douglass, Hillary Drake, Ashlee Estes, Tiffany Evens, Vanessa Garrow, Rachel Knapp, Jeanna Manning, Madison Rondeau, Taylor Saltus, Logan Snow, Meghan Strong.

Newcomers

Mollie Mashtare, Kendra Niemann, Briana Savage, Sydney Snow.

BEEKMANTOWN

The Eagles were the team to beat in the Northern Soccer League a season ago, compiling an undefeated 11-0-2 record.

But, Beekmantown’s title hopes were dashed in the Section VII Class B semifinals with a 3-2 loss to Plattsburgh.
