---- — MALONE — Undefeated North Star and the Ogdensburg Boys & Girls Club set up Sunday’s showdown in the Franklin CYO League with victories this past weekend.
North Star (8-0) recorded a 43-31 win over Bangor, while Ogdensburg (7-0) was an 84-37 winner over Maranatha.
In other games, St. John Bosco edged out a 54-51 decision over Chateaugay, and PAPAS Dairy was a 59-51 winner over Maranatha.
North Star 43, Bangor 31
Bangor fell behind, 11-0, in the first quarter and never recovered.
North Star was led by Isai Paradones with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. He also had 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jared Webb added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
John King paced Bangor with eight points, while Eric Childs finished with 11 rebounds.
St. John Bosco 54,
Corey LaMere’s 3-pointer at the buzzer gave St. John Bosco the win after Chateaugay’s Zach Cook hit a 3-pointer from the corner to tie it.
LaMere finished with 12 points, seven steals and four assists. John Armstrong led St. John Bosco with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Leon LaMere added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Austin Gonia scored 11 points.
Darian Velasquez led Chateaugay with a game-high 28 points and 11 rebounds. Zach Snyder and Cook each finished with 11 points.
PAPAS Dairy 59,
Justin Preve scored 10 of his game-high 14 points in the third quarter, which allowed PAPAS to build a 9-point lead. Maranatha battled back to tie it, at 51-all, but didn’t score after that.
Adam Beane added 11 for the winners, while Wally Poupore chipped in with 10. Tyrek Snead finished with eight points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Maranatha was paced by Matt Fish with 13 points, Ben Haug 12 and Tony Destefano, 10.
Ogdensburg 84, Maranatha 37
Konnor Murdock scored a game-high 18 points, while Dave Tomford tossed in 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and John Morrison 12 for the Ogdensburg Boys & Girls Club.
Cody Church’s 10 points paced Maranatha, while Anthony Destefono added eight and Ben Haug, seven.
