NCCS wins big in girls' basketball

CHAMPLAIN — Skyler Hebert and Allie Cartier combined for 25 points Monday night as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars knocked off the visiting Seton Catholic Knights 51-18 in girls’ basketball.

Cartier dropped in 13 points for Northeastern Clinton, while Hebert was right behind with 12 points. Abbie Miller had a strong game for the Cougars, finishing with nine points.

“We finally played four, good quarters,” Northeastern Clinton coach Frank Dumas said. “This was probably our best game of the year and we had nine out of 12 girls score.

“We had real good bench play that really helped us out (Monday). They did a real nice job and it was an all around good team effort.”

Seton Catholic was paced by Paige Spittler’s 10 points. Kelli Ryan chipped in with six points.
