Giessen leads Orange past Jaguars

INDIAN LAKE — Indian Lake/Long Lake pounded out 13 hits while improving its season record to 8-4 with a 15-9 win over Johnsburg in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference baseball Wednesday.

Chaitin Giessen led the Orange with two triples and a single, while Shane Short added two singles and a triple. Matt Moore finished with a double and single, and Henry Sandiford two singles.

Winning pitcher Moore shut out the Jaguars for six innings before running into trouble in the seventh when Johnsburg scored all its runs.

Losing pitcher Nate Prouty accounted for two of the six Johnsburg hits.

Ticonderoga 14, Crown Point 6

TICONDEROGA — Mark Donohue had four hits to power the Sentinels past the Panthers in a nonleague game.

Jordan Woods had three hits for Ticonderoga, and Ryan Trudeau added two. Miles Austin hit a double.

Tanner Wright struck out 11 and walked four as he went the distance for the win.

The Sentinels (7-7, 6-5) pulled ahead with five runs in the second inning.

“They were up early 4-0, and then we finally got the bats going,” Ticonderoga coach Dan Dorsett said.

John Spaulding hit a triple and a single for Crown Point, and Mike DuShane had a double. Robbie Macey started and took the loss.
