Beekmantown stays unbeaten in CVAC volleyball

BEEKMANTOWN — Michaela Lafountain served nine points and added 24 assists Wednesday to help lead unbeaten Beekmantown to a 3-0 victory over AuSable Valley in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball.

The Eagles won by game scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-17.

Jordynne Ales served a team-high 14 points for the Eagles. Shannon Ryan paced Beekmantown with 11 kills, while Kendra Lafountain chipped in with a team-high 14 digs. Mikaela Frechette and Emily Anderson each added four kills.

Recording team highs for the Patriots were Miranda O’Neill with seven points and four aces, Noelle Miller eight kills, Alexandra Lincoln 14 digs and Belle O’Toole 11 assists.

Saranac Lake 3, Peru 2

SARANAC LAKE —Emily Fountain served 23 points, including 13 aces, and added nine assists and five kills as the Red Storm outlasted the Indians.

Saranac Lake won the first two games before Peru evened the match by taking the next two. The Red Storm won Game 5 25-22.

Shannon Stevens had 13 points and seven aces for Saranac Lake, and Nicole Viscardo had eight points and five kills.

Peru’s Brooke Wyande had nine points, four aces, four digs and three kills. Maddie Kaplan had a team-high seven digs along with five points and four kills. Lea Perry contributed 18 points and six digs.

CHAMPLAIN — Amanda Tallon finished with 21 points, eight digs and 20 assists to help lead Northeastern Clinton to its victory.

The Cougars, after losing the first game, won by scores of 20-25, 25-7, 25-23, 25-16.

Emily Norris added 12 points, Stephanie LaValley 14 digs, Brianna McCoy five kills, Ellen Reid 11 points and five kills and Emily Boyer 29 digs for NCCS.

Ashley Byerley led the Chiefs with 19 points, including six aces. Kaylee Couture added a team-high four kills and Samanta Aierle a team-high eight assists.

ELLENBURG — Hannah Charland paced the Bobcats with 14 points, 7 kills and 10 digs.

Zoey Varin added seven points, 9 kills and six digs, and Shonni Velasquez chipped in seven points, 4 kills and 5 digs. MacKenzie Fountain had 10 assists.

Lake Placid’s Carleigh Garrett had five points and six assists, while Serina Hayes contributed nine kills and Taylor Maiorca added five digs.
