PLATTSBURGH — The Paul Titherington Memorial Golf Tournament, to benefit the Clinton Community College Foundation, will be held at Bluff Point Golf Resort today with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m.

Plattsburgh Little League All-Stars in District tourney

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Little League 11-12 All-Stars will be competing in the District Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Melissa Lahtinen-Penfield Park. The district round is the first step in the Little League tournament program which eventually leads up to the Little League World Series.

Plattsburgh hosts South Jefferson at 1 p.m. on Saturday and then Pulaski at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The top two finishers from these games advance to the district semifinal to be played on Monday, July 1. Time and location for Monday’s game, should Plattsburgh advance, will be determined based on the outcome of the weekend games.

The Plattsburgh team is comprised of the top players, ages 11 and 12, from the 2013 Plattsburgh Little League season. The 13-player roster includes Zach Bieber, Ryan Bone, Dominick Bordeau, Andrew Follmer, Isaac Garman, Jacob Gregoire, Elliot Hurwitz, Andy Lebeau, Nick Lebeau, Matt Maggy, Zach Marlow, Cody Peryea and Cade Preston.

The team is coached by Bill Lebeau, assisted by Kris Doorey and Jeff Burns. The team manager is Dave Gregoire.

Cancer fund golf tourney postponed

PLATTSBURGH — Due to the upcoming inclement weather and conditions on the course, the North Country Cancer Fund Tournament has been postponed and will be re-scheduled at a later date.

Peru Varsity Club to hold strength, conditioning camp

PERU — The Peru Varsity Club will be holding a strength and conditioning camp at the Peru High School campus from July 2 through Aug. 8 every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

This camp will incorporate strength and speed training to prepare for athletics or improve one’s current level of conditioning. The instructors will be Peter Wheatly and Matt Berry. Registrations are available through the Peru Varsity Club and can be found at perucsd.org under the athletics link.

The camp is open to all boys and girls entering grades seven through 12 who are Peru students. It is also open to the Peru class of 2013. Walk-in registrations are available in the high school lobby on July 2 at 8:30 a.m.
