Krecko named NJCAA Player of the Week

PLATTSBURGH — Clinton Community College men’s basketball player Mykelle Krecko (Peekskill) has received honors from the NJCAA this week.

After being chosen both the NJCAA National Player of the Week and the NJCAA Region III Player of the Week last week, Krecko was again chosen as the NJCAA Region III Player of the Week. Being chosen twice in a year is quite an honor; being chosen in consecutive weeks is a rarity.

“As the leading rebounder as a freshman in Region III, we expected big things from him as a sophomore,” Cougars coach Kevin Daugherty said. “Mykelle is playing at high level that not only shows up in the statistics, but has more importantly helped us become a very good team. Though his statistics are indeed impressive, he is much more interested in our win-loss record.”

Clinton is currently ranked No. 3 in Region III and is ranked No. 11 in the NJCAA national poll.
