AuSable Valley sneaks past Peru in boys' bowling

PLATTSBURGH — In a battle of standout boys’ bowling teams in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference not named Beekmantown, AuSable Valley came out on top of Peru Wednesday afternoon at North Bowl Lanes.

Despite outstanding performances by the Indians’ Jonathan Bowman and Kyle Mendofik, the Patriots emerged with a 6-4 victory.

Bowman finished with a 225-259-267-751 series, Mendofik a 264-213-251-728 and Keegan Kemp a 247-220-603 for Peru.

AuSable Valley, however, used its depth to pull out the win as six of its bowlers had 547 or better series.

Mike McDonald led the way with a 220-235-216-671 and Tyler Atkins finished with a 219-222-607 for the Patriots.

Peru prevailed, 4-0, in the girls’ match as Abbey Boudrieau rolled a 521 series to lead the way and Briaunna Varno added a 222 game and 518 triple.

Shania Malskis paced the Patriots with a 148 game and 381 series.

TICONDEROGA — The Northeastern Clinton boys had a good day on the road as Joey Robert led the way with a 226-244-203-673 series and Matt Jolicoeur followed with a 234 game and 601 triple.

Cole Frasier’s 235 game and 598 series paced the Sentinels.

Ticonderoga won the girls’ match as Cheyanne Tuthill’s 197 game and 529 triple were the high scores.

Maddie Dumas tossed a 167 game and 482 series for the Cougars.

PLATTSBURGH — Matt Fall rolled a 203 game and 544 series, while Jack Malek chipped in with a 535 set as the Saranac boys prevailed at North Bowl.

Connor Sheehan’s 149 game and 396 triple were high for Willsboro.

Gabi Yeager’s 482 series and Kaitlyn Arthur’s 209 game powered the Warriors to a win in the girls’ match.
