Red Storm end losing streak, defeat Shamrocks

SARANAC LAKE — Facing a 13-game losing streak, the Saranac Lake girls’ hockey team finally broke through Tuesday.

Morgan Farmer’s game-winning goal with five minutes and 53 seconds gone in the third period helped the Red Storm (2-14) to a 1-0 defeat of Salmon River at the Saranac Lake Civic Center.

Jillian Martin was credited with an assist on Farmer’s tally.

Saranac Lake was outshot in the tilt by a 31-8 margin. Lindsay Reeve stopped all 31 shots faced to earn the shutout.

Abby Grant stopped 7-of-8 shots for the Shamrocks between the pipes.
