LAKE PLACID— The 37th Annual Northern New York 8-Ball championships will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13 at the Comfort Inn in Lake Placid. There will be over $7,000 in prizes and awards paid out at the finals this year.

ADIRONDACK— The Adirondack Disc Golf Association and the Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department are sponsoring the Adirondack Open Disk Golf at 1 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 20.
The tournament will feature two rounds of disc golf. You can preregister at www.discgolfscene.com/torunaments/Adirondacks_Open_2013. . Participants who pre-register will receive an ADKGA disc as part of the player pack. This is the second of six local disc golf tournaments.

PLATTSBURGH— Saturday’s Plattsburgh State softball matchup against Cortland has been moved to 1 p.m. Monday, April 15.
The game was originally set for Saturday, but unplayable field conditions at Cardinal Park have forced the change.

BEEKMANTOWN— The 13th Annual Beekmantown Booster Club Jump Camp will be held June 17 to August 8 at Beekmantown High School for athletes entering grades 7-12 for the 2013-14 school year.
Jump Camp is an affordable, eight week athletic development program designed to prepare athletes for school sports. Workouts are performed Monday and Thursday and usually last for two hours. Out of district athletes and college athletes are welcome.

PLATTSBURGH— The committee to re-elect Andrew Wylie for District Attorney is announcing that the D.A. Golf Tournament will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, June 10 at Bluff Point Golf Course.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. The tournament format is a four-person scramble event and the entry fee is $600 per team.

JAY — The Adirondack Avalance AAU traveling basketball for boys 15-17 will have a meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 at the Town of Jay Community Center.
Parents, guardians and players wishing to try out should plan to attend.
Topics to be discussed will include; tryouts and tournament dates. Potential players must be residents of the AuSable Valley Central School District. Ten players will be selected for the travel team and all will be eligible to play with the Avalanche in the Seton Summer League.
Also to be discussed at this meeting will be the need for a percent willing to act as a liaison to organize hotel travel arrangements for the team. For more information, contact Randy Douglas at 569-3582.
MORIAH— The Brian T. Carpenter Memorial Golf tournament will be starting at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start on Saturday, August 3.
The tournament will be held at Moriah Country Club. The proceeds will benefit the Brian T. Carpenter Memorial Fund. Members must pay $55and non-members must pay $70.
Cart rentals are $25, and cart reservation and rental fee must be included with the tournament registration. First, second and third place cash prizes will be awarded and prize money amount will be determined based on number of participants.
