NRA Rifle Match set for Dec. 7

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club will host a 60 Shot NRA Prone Match Dec. 7 with relay times at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon. Top competitors from Quebec, Vermont and New York are expected to shoot.

The match is open to anyone, and no experience is needed. Equipment is available to borrow for free. Match fee is $15 for adults and $10 for student. Amoriell wins indoor time trial

PLATTSBURGH — Jason Amoriell turned in a time of 28 minutes, 32.58 seconds to finish first in Wednesday’s Mountain Riders Indoor time trial.

YMCA registering for youth basketball

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh YMCA Youth Basketball Program has begun registration, which will last until Dec. 4. This is an eight-week program for boys and girls in first and second grades (older Kindergarteners may also play). The program starts the week of Dec. 9. Practices/scrimmages are held early evenings, with a total of two practices/scrimmages per week. The program is open to all communities. All participants will receive their own YMCA basketball, t-shirt uniform and award. Lower baskets are used for this instructional, fun program. Volunteer coaches are needed.
