Indians control Bulldogs in boys' basketball

CHATEAUGAY — Peru used a 19-8 run in the fourth quarter Saturday to pull away from Chateaugay, 59-42, in non-league boys’ basketball play.

Tim Remillard led the Indians with 14 points, while Bret Boyer and Rivelino Hendricks added 11 each, and Conor Casey, eight.

Chad Stalter paced the Bulldogs with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Jordan Martin added 11 points and Devon Barnes a team-high 13 rebounds.

Peru held a 26-19 lead at the half and a 40-34 advantage heading into the final quarter.

“We had it down to six to start the fourth and then six again a little later,” said Chateaugay coach Mike Martin. “But then they went on a nice little run. We couldn’t get a stop and we couldn’t score.

“Their size and athleticism were a little too much for us. They have a nice team.”
