Brassard, Vikings hold on against Knights

(Continued)

PORT HENRY —

Willsboro 50, Crown Point 47

WILLSOBORO — After Seth Swires put the Warriors up by three points with 18.8 seconds left, Crown Point had three chances to knock down the tying 3-pointer.

Luckily for Willsboro, they didn’t fall.

The Warriors beat the Panthers, 50-47, to pick up their second victory of the year, thanks in large part to Nick Arnold’s 32 points.

Arnold knocked down five of Willsboro’s six three-pointers, but that nearly wasn’t enough at the end as the Panthers pulled the score within one. However, Swires’ free throws forced Crown Point to have to shoot from beyond the arc with less than 20 seconds remaining.

“They made a good run,” Willsboro coach Jim Spring said. “They came out in the third and picked up the defensive pressure.”

Gabe Macey paced the Panthers with 12 points, 10 of which came from the free-throw line.
