Elizabethtown-Lewis 41, Indian Lake/Long Lake 25

ELIZABETHTOWN — Elizabethtown-Lewis shut down the Orange in the second quarter to pull away to a 22-9 lead at halftime and a 41-25 win.

Elizabethtown-Lewis held Indian Lake/Long Lake to just two points in the second quarter, which Elizabethtown-Lewis coach Colby Pulsifer said was a product of good team defense.

Austin Morris led the way for the Lions, notching 13 points. Charlie Huttig finished with 12, and Zac Noka-Bailey had 10.

“It was a really good team effort, and everybody did their part,” Elizabethtown-Lewis coach Colby Pulsifer said.

Henry Sandiford led the Orange with nine points.

SCHROON LAKE — Jesse Shaughnessy scored 29 points and Tanner Stone added 20 as Schroon Lake routed Minerva/Newcomb, 78-26.

The Wildcats opened a 17-6 advantage in the first quarter and didn’t look back, holding the Mountaineers below double digits in both the second and fourth quarters.

“It was a pretty good team effort,” Schroon Lake coach Lee Silvernail said.

Schroon Lake moved to 3-0 with the victory, while Minerva/Newcomb fell to 0-2 to begin the season.
