AuSable Valley boys win in bowling

AUSABLE FORKS — The AuSable Valley boys recorded a 9-1 victory over Plattsburgh High School in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference bowling on Friday. The Press-Republican incorrectly reported as the Hornets winning the match.

Buksa excluded from preview

PLATTSBURGH — The Press-Republican accidently omitted Brandon Buksa from Friday’s Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys’ hockey preview. Head coach Justin Frechette expects the junior forward to play a pivotal role in the Eagles’ offense this winter.

Family swim at Wellness Center

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department is sponsoring the Open Family Swim night at the Wellness Center which is located at 295 New York Road in Plattsburgh. The open swim time will be from 7-9 p.m. on every Friday through March. Anyone is allowed to participate as long as they are not in diapers.

All participants must pay the $2 fee. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Certified lifeguards will be on duty at all times. Participants will have access to the locker rooms but must bring a towel of their own and it is also recommended that water shoes be worn. Lumber Jills fundraiser set for Dec. 15

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Lumber Jills will be fundraising and celebrating the holidays at the Monopole in Plattsburgh on Dec. 15 starting at 9 p.m. It’s a chance to come and spread holiday cheer with your favorite roller derby team. Musical guests for the event will be Eat. Sleep. Funk. and Snaxxxs. Every 5$ suggested donation will come with a red Lumber Jills beer mug and a raffle ticket. Items to be raffled include Lumber Jill merchandise and various gift certificates to lacal businesses in the area. All proceeds from the night’s event will keep the Jills rolling in 2013.
