JOHNSON, Vt. — Former Saranac standout Kaitlin Myers surpassed the 1,000-point plateau in her career, scoring a season-high 28 points to lead the SUNY Canton women’s basketball team to a 79-62 win over Johnson State College Tuesday in Vermont.
Myers entered Tuesday’s contest 18 points shy of the mark, and after scoring 16 points in the first half, sank a jumper with 18:29 left in the second half to reach the milestone. Myers transferred from SUNY Cobleskill, where she amassed 585 points during her two stellar seasons with the Tigers. During her first year with the Roos, she led the squad with 353 points and entered this season with 938 career points. Myers has led her team in scoring in two of the Roos’ first three games, and on Tuesday she was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line against the Badgers and also pulled in 13 rebounds for her second double-double this season.
