Turkey Trot pre-registration ends today

PERU — Today is the final day to pre-register for the 35th-Annual John P. Adams Memorial Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22.

You can pre-register by going to and click on Register for Events, select Turkey Trot and choose one of the two registration/payment options. Pre-registrants for the 5k and 10k events will receive a free gift. Entry fee for the 5k and 10k is $15 by Nov. 19. After Nov. 19, the fee will go up to $20. The one mile fun run/walk fee is $5.

Same-day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Peru Intermediate Gym. To ensure a 9 a.m. start, registration will end at 8:15 a.m. The one mile fun run/walk will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the 5k/10k will start at 9 a.m.

Pre-registrants can pick up their bib number on Nov.21, from 4-7 p.m., at the Peru Intermediate gym.

Trophies will be awarded to male and female winners of the 5k/10k races.

Stick-n-puck, public skating slated

PLATTSBURGH — Can-Am Sports Arena will be open for stick-n-puck session Tuesday, from 1-2:30 p.m., and Wednesday, from 12:30-2 p.m.

Public skating is scheduled for Wednesday, from 2:15-3:15 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 25, from 4-5 p.m.

Saranac youth hoop sign-up tonight

SARANAC — The Town of Saranac will hold registration for youth basketball tonight and Wednesday, from 6:30-8 p.m., at the town hall.

A coach is needed for the first- and second-grade coed team.

Also, a Youth Commission meeting will be held prior to today’s registration, starting at 6 p.m. It is imperative that all parents and coaches show up for registration to fill out the proper forms.
