Saranac Booster Club to meet Dec. 2

SARANAC — The Saranac Central School Booster Club will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 in the large group instruction room at the high school. New members are welcome to attend.

26th-annual Bobcat Shootout set for this weekend

ELLENBURG — Northern Adirondack Central School will host its 26th-annual Bobcat Shootout this weekend.

Friday’s schedule includes Northeastern Clinton, fresh off a tournament victory in the Muggsy’s Tip-Off Classic, versus Chazy at 6 p.m.; and the host Bobcats against tourney newcomer Westport in the second contest.

On Saturday, the third-place game is set for 2 p.m., with the championship game to follow. On both days, the junior varsity teams will play an hour and a half earlier than their varsity squads in the Middle School gym.

Bouyea just misses out on area bowling series record

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh’s Justin Bouyea just missed setting the all-time area record for a three-game series at North Bowl Lanes on Monday.

Bouyea opened up by striking in 11 of 12 frames for a 279 game, then rolled a perfect 300 game and had a spare and then 10 strikes in the third game while needing an eight count to tie the record on his last ball. Bouyea got five pins and finished with a 279-300-285-864 triple, missing out on Matt Raudenbush’s record of 867.

Bouyea was bowling in the Pepsi Classic for the team of J.T. Mechanical. His current average is 221.

Meanwhile, Mike Watts, who carries a 232 average bowling for North Bowl Pro Shop, tossed a 279-286-245-810 series.

Youth bowler Kokes tosses 300 game

PLATTSBURGH — Chris Kokes, a senior at Northeastern Clinton Central School, recently rolled the first 300 of his bowling career.

Kokes tossed his gem while bowling in the North Bowl Junior-Major-Senior Youth Scholarship League. Kokes, who is averaging 198, finished the day with a 300-187-189-676 series.
