Peru boys finish undefeated in CVAC tennis

PERU — The Peru boys’ tennis team won every match Friday to blank Lake Placid 5-0 and finish the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference regular season undefeated.

Peter Daly, Johnny McAuliffe and Connor Bond swept the singles matches. Kyle Kemp and Patrick Demarais teamed to win the No. 1 doubles match, and Matthew Rine and Camden Brockbank claimed the second match.

Lake Placid’s Kayla Hudson and Grace McGrew dropped the first set at No. 2 doubles and then won the next two 6-3, 6-0 to claim the match and help the Blue Bombers beat the Indians 3-2.

Georgia O’Leary and Victoria O’Leary grabbed singles victories for Lake Placid.

Peru’s Kari Kusalonis won the second singles match, while Anna Mitchell and Taylor Higgins prevailed in the first doubles match.
