Saranac sweeps Placid in tennis

SARANAC — Elijah Boliver and Matt Bouyea won at No. 2 doubles to provide the margin of difference in the Saranac boys’ 3-2 victory over Lake Placid in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference tennis on Thursday.

Shawn Bissonette and Dylan Christopherson won at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, for the Chiefs.

The Blue Bombers got victories from Justin Stosiek at No. 3 singles, and from David Knapic and Nik Kobe at No. 1 doubles.

Meanwhile, the Saranac girls recorded a 5-0 victory as Anna Dorrance, at No. 1 singles, and Emma Newell, at No. 3 singles, rallied for wins after losing the first set of their matches.

Amie Eggleston and Kristen Napper won a three-set match at No. 1 doubles, while other Saranac victories came from Kayla Napper at No. 2 singles and Olivia Klooster and Brooke Layhee at No. 2 doubles.
