---- — Lady Eagles hockey meeting May 14

BEEKMANTOWN — The Lady Eagle Hockey Booster Club will be holding its annual meeting on Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at the Beekmantown High School cafeteria.

All parents of girls interested in playing girls high school hockey from Beekmantown, Chazy, Northeastern Clinton, Saranac, Peru, Plattsburgh High School and Seton Catholic are encouraged to attend.

The meeting agenda includes review and approval of by-law changes, election of board of director members and determination of dues.

Selects skaters win in Vermont

BURLINGTON — The New York Selects AAA ‘98 hockey team captured its second straight AAA tourney championship win a 5-2 victory over the Thousand Island Privateers on Sunday in the Annual Green Mountain Avalanche AAA Tournament.

The Selects (8-1-1) also won the Kingston AAA Hockey Festival Tournament two weeks ago beating the USA AAA Prospects 3-0 in the finals.

The team is based out of Chazy Youth Hockey and is comprised of kids from Chazy, Mooers, Plattsburgh, Tupper Lake, Lake Placid, Burnt Hills, Camillus, Millbrook, Jericho VT, and Montreal, Que. The team will travel to the Ottawa Little Senators AAA Tournament next weekend.

Team members are: Chris Williams, Michael Parent, Alec Lind, Mike Philippone, Alexander Gonyo, David Rosales, Alex Fisher, Patrik Abdelnour, Kevin Fisher, Elliott Fletcher, Ben Fleischman, Wade Weeden, Christian Wawrzynski, C.J. Azuelos, Ryan Criss, and Brendan Davison.

The coaches are Robin Weeden, Bill Fisher, Brent Davison, and Ari Azuelos.

Bowl Mart Lanes hosts annual King-Queen tournament

CHAMPLAIN — Bowl Mart Lanes is hosting the annual King-Queen tournament for house league bowlers on Friday May 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Cavanagh Named SUNYAC Men’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year

CORTLAND — In his second season, head coach Ryan Cavanagh has been selected as the SUNYAC Coach of the Year. Cavanagh becomes the first coach in the 15-year history of the Plattsburgh State lacrosse program to receive the league’s award.

Cavanagh and his staff led the Cardinals to a 14-4 record in 2013 and its first appearance in the SUNYAC Championship game against Cortland this past Saturday.

Final Fun Run held

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau hosted its final Fun Run on Monday at the Terry Gordon Memorial Bike, with 147 runners participating. The Youth Bureau would like to thank coaches Jack and Gayle Wilson for their continued support of youth Fun Runs.

Knights of Columbus tourney June 14

PERU — St. Augustine’s Knights of Columbus Council 7273 will host its 27th-annual golf tournament at the Adirondack Golf and Country Club on June 14. The four-person scramble will feature a “New Car Hole in One” prize sponsored by Bill McBride Chevrolet and other great prizes. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and will be followed by an awards dinner in the clubhouse. Spouses are invited to attend the dinner at $15 each. Basketball tourney slated for May 31

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown Social Center will sponsor the Black Fly 2013 basketball tournament on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, at 5 p.m. Rain dates are June 7 and 8. Registration is free. If team t-shirts are desired, registration and $10 per player must be submitted by May 18. Women’s soccer play’s host to Beach Soccer Tournament

PLATTSBURGH — on Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4, the Plattsburgh State women’s soccer team will be hosting its second-annual Beach Soccer Tournament at the Plattsburgh City Beach. The co-ed tournament will feature a 20 and over division, an under-20 division, a teen division, and a 12 and under division. Teams will be comprised of five members each and at least one female player must be on the field at all times. The registration fee is $100 per team. PCAWA championships May 9

PLATTSBURGH —The Plattsburgh Chapter of the American Wally Ball Association (PCAWA) Championship game will be held Thursday May 9 at Memorial Hall on the Campus of SUNY Plattsburgh at 5:45 p.m.

The Drowning Beau Trout’s will face off against the Blue Men of Psychology. The league banquet will be held on May 24, location to be announced

League members are reminded to get their ballots in for the K. Lutzy player of the year award. The Klutzy is named for former Wally Ball great Kevin Lutzy who moved to North Carolina and was known for his outstanding play and commitment to the game of Wally Ball.
