Red Storm bats awake against Lake Placid

“We did very well with runners in scoring position (Tuesday),” Bell said. “We struggled with that in the last few games.”

Greg Manney registered the win for the Eagles, adding 11 strikeouts in five innings of work.

Ethan King led the Bobcats with their lone extra-base hit, a double.

Beekmantown and Peru will fight for first place in Thursday’s CVAC showdown.

“We’re fired up for it,” Bell said. “We’ll worked hard at practice (today) and prepare. We hope we can carry this momentum into Thursday. It should be a good matchup.”

CHAZY — Jacob Kennedy pitched five solid innings and helped his cause at the plate with a base hit and four RBI as the Eagles (4-1) defeated the Orange.

Kennedy struck out five, allowed three hits, walked two and surrendered three runs, one of which was earned.

Offensively, he added a two-run single, bases-loaded walk and sacrifice fly.

Hayden Guay, Craig Botten, Kyle Bisonette, Josh Peete and Alec LaPierre rapped out two hits apiece for Chazy, with Botten scoring four runs, Bisonette driving in two and Peete getting a double. Chazy had 11 hits in all.

The Eagles held a 4-1 lead when they scored three in the fourth and four more in the fifth for an 11-3 advantage.

Curtis Seaman and Henry Sandiford led Indian Lake/Long Lake with a single and double each. Collin Farrell started and took the pitching loss.
