Summer Junior/Adult League meeting May 22

PLATTSBURGH— The Summer Junior/Adult league at North Bowl Lanes will be having a meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. Teams must consist of two junior bowlers and two adult bowlers.

Bowling will be followed after the meeting. The league will bowl Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. Call North Bowl at 561-1690 or 534-3713.

Final Walk About Town set for May 1

PLATTSBURGH— The Algonquin Chapter of the ADK will be holding its final Wednesday Walk About Town at 3 p.m. May 1. You must meet at the steps of City Hall for a walk around a Plattsburgh neighborhood. Join us for coffee after the walk.

Algonquin Chapter Meeting May 3

PLATTSBURGH — On Friday, May 3, join the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK for their monthly program and meeting at the Conservation Building on the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Come at 6 p.m. and bring your own brown bag supper. Beverage and sweets will be provided.

The program, featuring Ed Reed, DEC Wildlife Biologist begins at 7 p.m. Mr. Reed’s program, entitles, “Moose in New York State,” will review the history, current status, and future moose in New York State. A business meeting follows.

Recreation Department to hold Flag Camp

PLATTSBURGH— The Town of Platttsburgh Recreation Department is sponsoring a Flag Camp at the Cadyville Recreation Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

May 20, 24, 29, and a play day June 1. Chris DeAngelo will lead a staff of local youth players and football coaches to teach the fundamental of football. the camp is free and all participants will receive a t-shirt. Players must wear safety glasses and a mouth guard to participate.

Veterans Basketball Association wins four tournaments

ELLENBURG — The Veterans Basketball Association 5th and 6th grade team took first place in four tournaments: its own Veterans Tournament at Northern Adirondack, Peru’s IAABO Tournament, Potsdam’s Blue and Orange Classic and the Saranac Chiefs Challenge.

All members attend 4th, 5th and 6th grade at Northern Adirondack Central School.

Team members include: coach Nate Bilow, coach Pete Patterson, Cody Peryea, Brett Juntunen, Reed Lashway, Devin Brunell, Zachary Miller, Matthew Nephew, Cody Woodward, Kayden Guerin, Lucas Smart, Casper Labarge and Cody Lambert.
