---- — Finney, buddieswin golf tourneyat Adirondack

PERU — Fifty-two Adirondack Golf & Country Club members and their buddies participated in the “Bring a Buddy” Tournament on Sunday. Gary Finney, Roger Jaquish, Brandon Jaquish and Ron Bruno took first place with a low net of 54.

Using a modified Oldsmobile handicapping system, the team of Ryan Maille, Josh McMillan, Chris Adams and Matt Dion were second low net with a 54.7, while Carol Dandrow, Tom Ryder, Denise Ryder and Mitchell Ryder were third with a 54.9.

Prior to the tournament, a team putting contest was held and the team of Jean Benard, Keith McKanick, Louise Guilbault and Daniel Jacques took first place with a total of 106 inches. In second place, with 139 inches, was the team of Gale Carroll, Willie Lapham, John Niles and Terry Niles. Nancy Lopez was the only golfer to hole the ball.

Louise Guilbault won the women’s closest to the line on the 10th hole and Mitchell Ryder the men’s closest to the line. Closest to the pin winners were Daniel Jacques on the third hole, Lynn Gaum on the eighth hole, Chris Adams on the 14th hole and Jay LaPage on the 17th hole.

Only one skin was awarded and it went to the team of Anna Sherman, Paul Sherman, Adam Sherman and Tim Mulligan with an eagle on the fifth hole.

The next member tournament at Adirondack will be the closing “Apple Ball” tournament on Sunday, October 13. Entry forms are available in the pro shop and there is a deadline of October 6 to enter.

Senior league in need of 3 bowlers

PLATTSBURGH — The TGIF Seniors League, which bowls at 12:30 p.m. on Fridays at North Bowl Lanes, is in need of three bowlers ages 50 and over. If interested in bowling, call Morna, at 643-8283.

Bowl Mart youth leagues to beginon Sept. 21

ROUSES POINT — The Bowl Mart Lanes youth leagues will begin their fall season at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 21. There will be a meeting prior to bowling. All youth ages five to 18 are welcome.

Youth Soccer tourney seeks teams

PLATTSBURGH — Champlain Park Fall Classic Soccer Tournament is looking for interested mite and peewee age teams to play in a charity tournament on Oct. 19 at Champlain Park on Cumberland Head in Plattsburgh.

PFC schedules travel team tryouts

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh F.C. Soccer Club will hold tryouts for its U10 to U14 Spring 2014 travel teams at Plattsburgh High School turf field on Sunday, Sept. 22.

The U10 division for boys and girls will have registration at 3:30 p.m. with tryouts from 4-5 p.m.; U12 division for boys and girls will have registration at 4:30 p.m. with tryouts from 5-6 p.m.; U14 division for boys and girls will have registration at 5:30 p.m. with tryouts from 6-7 p.m.

Tryouts is mandatory for all players. Players are to bring a completed registration form and medical release form with them to registration.
