Finney, buddieswin golf tourneyat Adirondack
PERU — Fifty-two Adirondack Golf & Country Club members and their buddies participated in the “Bring a Buddy” Tournament on Sunday. Gary Finney, Roger Jaquish, Brandon Jaquish and Ron Bruno took first place with a low net of 54.
Using a modified Oldsmobile handicapping system, the team of Ryan Maille, Josh McMillan, Chris Adams and Matt Dion were second low net with a 54.7, while Carol Dandrow, Tom Ryder, Denise Ryder and Mitchell Ryder were third with a 54.9.
Prior to the tournament, a team putting contest was held and the team of Jean Benard, Keith McKanick, Louise Guilbault and Daniel Jacques took first place with a total of 106 inches. In second place, with 139 inches, was the team of Gale Carroll, Willie Lapham, John Niles and Terry Niles. Nancy Lopez was the only golfer to hole the ball.
Louise Guilbault won the women’s closest to the line on the 10th hole and Mitchell Ryder the men’s closest to the line. Closest to the pin winners were Daniel Jacques on the third hole, Lynn Gaum on the eighth hole, Chris Adams on the 14th hole and Jay LaPage on the 17th hole.
Only one skin was awarded and it went to the team of Anna Sherman, Paul Sherman, Adam Sherman and Tim Mulligan with an eagle on the fifth hole.
The next member tournament at Adirondack will be the closing “Apple Ball” tournament on Sunday, October 13. Entry forms are available in the pro shop and there is a deadline of October 6 to enter.
