Chiefs, Patriots, Bobcats win volleyball matches

SARANAC — Anna Dorrance had 22 points, 15 digs and 10 assists to power Saranac past Northeastern Clinton in four games during a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday.

The Chiefs won by games scores of 25-20, 21-25, 25-20 and 25-20.

Kayla Byerly added 10 points, six aces and 16 digs, while Abby Monty put down eight kills. Cassie Smith contributed 15 digs and four kills.

Amanda Tallon paced Northeastern Clinton with 16 points and 18 assists. Brianna McCoy had 12 points, Ashley McCoy served 11, Aryana Kellison added 11 digs and Gabrielle Vasquez chipped in 10 digs.

CLINTONVILLE — Mirissa O’Neill served 17 points, including five aces, and had 16 kills to lead the Patriots to a sweep of the Hornets.

O’Neill also had five digs and six assists. Noelle Miller slammed down 14 kills and added seven points and 10 digs, while Miranda Sheffer contributed eight points, four kills, seven digs and 17 assists.

Plattsburgh High’s Lauren Stanley had 11 digs, Deanna LaBarge chipped in six kills and six oints and Kianna Dragoon had 13 points, eight assists and five digs.

ELLENBURG — Aubrey Kerr served 10 points and Kailey Brunell added nine to lead the Bobcats to a sweep of the Red Storm.

Emma Trombley added four points, three aces and six kills for Northern Adirondack, which won by game scores of 25-16, 25-9 and 25-15. MacKenzie Fountain finished with eight assists, Zoey Varin had four kills and Olivia Barnaby chipped in six assists.

“NAC played a well-rounded match,” Bobcats’ coach Katrina Castine said. “Every player but one was successful at serving and earning points.”
