Defending division champions include Northeastern Clinton in Division I, Chazy in Division II and Minerva/Newcomb in Division III. All three will need to overcome the loss of some key players to graduation in their bid to repeat.

Returning sectional champions include Northeastern Clinton in Class B, Lake Placid in Class C and Chazy in Class D.

Chazy would later add yet another state championship.

The Patriots will need to get a lot out of returners Austin Facteau, Elias Smith, Riley Taylor, Prescott Doyle, Nate Devins and Alex Knapp in order to compete.

The returning players have good experience and skill.

AuSable Valley’s new players are young and inexperienced, however. Varsity newcomers Zach Cosgrove and Ian Rennie will be counted on to fill huge roles for the squad.

The Patriots will also need to continue to develop their attack as that is an area the team has struggled with.
