Barracks Shadie Hawkins tourney Sunday PLATTSBURGH — The Barracks will hold a Shadie Hawkins Tournament Sunday starting at 8 a.m. Players will play in threesomes. This is a one-man scramble from the ladies tees with your handicap divided by three. Entry fee is $25, which includes skins. This tournament is open to members and nonmembers. AuSable Valley modified sports meeting Thursday CLINTONVILLE — AuSable Valley athletics will be having their modified coaches, parent, athlete meeting for the fall season Thursday in the middle/high school auditorium. The coaches only meeting will begin at 4 p.m., followed by the parent/athlete meeting at 6:30 p.m. All modified parents and athletes are encouraged to attend. For more information, call Kurt M. Stick ‘n’ puck, public skating times announced PLATTSBURGH — Ameri-Can North Sports Center will hold stick ‘n’ puck and public skating this weekend. Stick ‘n’ puck will be held Friday from 5:30-7 p.m. and Sunday from 2:30-4 p.m. Public skating will take place Sunday from 1-2:30 p.m.

North Country Handicap League holding meeting ROUSES POINT — The North Country Handicap League that bowls on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. will hold a meeting Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at North Bowl Lanes. The league is looking for bowlers and five-man teams to bowl. It is a handicap league with 100 percent handicap. All interested bowlers are asked to Harold Girard at 561-3220 or the lanes at 561-1690 for more information. The league will be starting immediately following the meeting.

Dowdle team captures St. Peter’s Invitational title PERU — The team of Jim Dowdle, Dennis Bardelcik, Gene Poutre and Matt Davis fired a score of 56 to take the 18th St. Peter’s Church Invitational title. Kathy Banko, Dee Vivian, Josh Hlaing and Erik Meigs tallied a 62 to finish in second place.
