Summer weather patterns presentation today
PLATTSBURGH — As a service to the local boating community the Champlain Sail and Power Squadron, a unit of The United States Power Squadrons, the world’s oldest and largest boating safety education organization is co-sponsoring, with the Center for Community and Workforce Development at Clinton Community College, Skywarn: What Boaters Should Know about Summer Weather Patterns on Lake Champlain.
The presentation by John Goff, Head Forecaster at the National Weather Service Office in Burlington, will be held in Room 348 of the Main Building at Clinton Community College today at 7 p.m.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will allow time for questions and refreshments will be served after the program.

New York/Vermont 5K May 18
CROWN POINT — The second annual New York/Vermont 5K Champlain Bridge Run will be contested on Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m.
Packet pick-up and day race registration will be at 8:30-9:45 a.m. on the ground of the British fort ruins within the Crown Point State Historic Site. People may register in advance online at www.active.com. Forms are also available online at www.lachute.us and can be mailed to Ockrin at PO Box 33, Crown Point 12928.
The registration fee will be $20 before May 1, which includes a t-shirt, and $25 after May 1 that doesn’t include a t-shirt. Any child registering with a parent is $10. Checks should be made payable to the LaChute Road Runners Club.
