Patriots get past NAC in 8 innings

AUSABLE FORKS —

Northeastern Clinton one rough inning in terms of walks and errors and it cost them. The Cougars, though, had a chance to tie the game in the seventh with a runner at third, but couldn’t get her across.

Brittany Tschirhart struck out six batters in going the distance for the victory for Saranac Lake.

Nicole Viscardo paced the Red Storm with a double at the plate.

Stephanie LaValley and Jennifer Favro combined to strike out nine for Northeastern Clinton. Favro suffered the loss.

Madalyn Tucker had a strong day at the plate for the Cougars, belting a pair of triples.

SARANAC 8, PERU 2

PERU — Kourtnie Campbell had a great all-around game for the Chiefs as they knocked off the Indians.

Campbell captured the win on the mound for Saranac with eight strikeouts and three walks. She also helped her own cause from the plate with a triple and a double.

Summer Gillespie chipped in with a double of her own, while Ashley Terry finished with two hits.

Nicole Breton led the charge for Peru with three hits on the afternoon. Brianna Padron added two hits.

Kelly Neenan suffered the loss for the Indians, striking out six and walking four.

PLATTSBURGH 20, BEEKMANTOWN 0 (5)

BEEKMANTOWN — Jamie Bedard struck out nine, allowed five hits and had two hits from the plate as the Hornets cruised past the Eagles.

Plattsburgh belted out 19 hits, led by Madison Bushey’s three hit, four-RBI performance. Bushey, Karlie Neale and Cieara Duquette all finished with a triple.
