PLATTSBURGH — It’s been a while since the Clinton Community College men’s soccer team has had a player on the All-Region III team.
But sophomore forward Jordan Knight was named to the region’s second team this week.
Knight, who scored six goals and assisted on four others as a freshman, tallied 20 goals and added five assists, playoffs included, while helping to lead the Cougars to a 13-6-1 overall record this past season.
“I definitely think he deserves it,” said Clinton coach Zac Eppler. “It’s kind of tough for a player from Clinton to make the all-region team going up against players from schools like Herkimer. Just making the team is a challenge and it says a lot about Jordan.
“He’s a very smart player, who reads the opposing defense very well. But I can’t say enough about his physical ability — he’s one of the fastest players in the league. He was able to get a lot of goals by getting thru balls and using his speed.”
