---- — USA Hockey officials’ seminar scheduled

PLATTSBURGH — USA Hockey will be conducting a hockey officials fall seminar for the upcoming 2012-2013 ice hockey season. Any individual, 14 years of age and older, wishing to officiate games in the Chazy, Rouses Point and/or Plattsburgh areas must attend and successfully complete the required classroom and on-ice sessions.

Only officials registered with USA Hockey who have met all requirements will be eligible to officiate games. All officials, new and returning, are required to register on-line prior to the seminar, at

The appropriate registration fee must be paid via credit card on-line. Any official under 18 years of age must have a parent or other adult assist with the on-line payment process. Any official 18 years of age or older as of October 7, 2012 must also complete an on-line screening program and provide proof of completion prior to being eligible to work games.

The seminar schedule is as follows:

Sunday, October 7- Town of Plattsburgh Offices, Banker Road, Plattsburgh, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (new officials with a parent or guardian, all returning Level 1 and Level 2 officials, and all Level 3 officials less than 18 years of age; all Level 3 officials are encouraged but not required to attend).

Sunday, October 21- Plattsburgh State Field House, Rugar Street, Plattsburgh, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (on-ice session; helmet, skates and whistle required for all officials).

Sunday, October 21- Town of Plattsburgh Offices, Banker Road, Plattsburgh, 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., all officials).

The Barracks Fall Classic October 13

PLATTSBURGH — The Barracks Fall Classic will be held on Saturday, October 13 with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

The format is a three-man scramble from the white tees and individual play with aggregate score on holes 2, 10 and 16. The minimum team handicap is 32 and the maximum individual handicap is 18 (for example, a person with a 20 handicap will be awarded an 18 for team computation).

The entry fee is $330 per team, with skins included. Call 566-7150 for an application and information.

Apple Ball Tournament at Adirondack

PERU — The final 2012 member tournament at Adirondack Golf & Country Club will be the Apple Ball Tournament on Sunday, October 14. There will be a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m.

Four-person teams will be computer generated and each golfer will play his/her own ball, with the best three net scores counted on each hole. Registration and the putting contest will be held at 11 a.m.

Following the tournament, light appetizers, dinner and dessert will be enjoyed by all participants, and the 2012 Club Championship trophies and Match Play awards will be presented. The entry deadline for the tournament is Sunday, October 7.
