---- — Saranac Booster Club golf tourney on Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — The Saranac Booster Club will be holding its annual golf tournament on Sunday at The Barracks Golf Course. Golfers are asked to arrive at 11:30 a.m. to register for the noon shotgun start.

Plattsburgh-Saranac football set for 1 p.m.

SARANAC — The start time for the Plattsburgh-Saranac football game has been moved to 1 p.m. because of the severe threat of thunderstorms.

 

AuSable Valley Hall of Fame to induct five new members

AUSABLE — On Columbus Day weekend, the AuSable Valley Athletic Hall of Fame will induct five new members.

LeAnn Allen Nixon, Roy Ano, Darcy Hamilton Castine, Kara Kitchen Glodgett and Jame Commegy will be inducted on Saturday. They will be introduced at halftime of Friday’s football game when AuSable Valley hosts Moriah. A reception and dinner will take place at the American Legion Post 504 with a social hour starting at 4 p.m. followed by the dinner and induction ceremony.

ADK holding events on Sept. 30 and Oct. 8

PLATTSBURGH — On Sunday, Sept. 30 join the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK for Lynn Valenti’s “I’m Not Bluffing!” easy mystery outing. For more information, contact Lynn Valenti at 562-0552 by Sept. 28.

On Monday, Oct. 8, join the Algonquin Chapter of ADK for a progressive hike in Essex County. This hike is considered easy. For more information, contact Lynn Valenti at 562-0553 by Oct. 5. 

 

Trapper education course set for Oct. 13

KEENE — There will be a Trapper education course on Oct. 13 at the Keene Community Center, located on Church Street, in Keene. The course will start at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. There is no fee, and pre-registration is required by calling 576-4247. Please bring a lunch.

Wooden Bat League results announced

PLATTSBURGH — The 4th Ward Warriors’ Chris King hit the league’s first home run to help his team grab the win over Off the Field Sports/AC North with a score of 20-13. John Whitehouse also added three hits in the winning effort.

Neil Stevens had two hits and two RBIs and J. Burns added three more RBIs in the losing effort.

The Bat Company squeaked out a win over the New York State Police with a final score of 5-4. The Bat Company’s Matt Rivers had two hits and Steve Livsey brought in two runs for the win.

New York State Police had help from M. Flaherty who added 3 hits and Brett Sypek had two hits in the close game just falling short of a win.

 

Fun run results from Sept. 20

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau will host a fun run on Sept. 27 at Cumberland Bay State Park. Stretching and running tips are given before the start of the runs. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and runs start at 5:15 p.m. All runs are free.
