HAMILTON — The North Country Community College men’s cross country team placed 10th, while three participants on the women’s squad finished inside the top-130 at Saturday’s Hamilton College Invitational.
Peter Kosgei of Hamilton College grabbed the top spot in the men’s 8k with East Strawudsburg’s Chris Schneider finishing in the runner-up spot at 26:29.
The Saints’ Llaney Hernandez, Josh Cook, and Jeremy Jones finished in 28:36, 29:21, and 30:08, respectively. The team placed third out of seven participating schools.
In the women’s 5k, NCCC was unable to register any team points because of an incomplete team.
Corinne Fitzgerald was the overall winner from East Strawudsburg at 18:19, with teammate Rosie Mascoli finishing seven seconds off the pace.
Saints runner Kaylen Short finished 111th with a time of 24:03. Britney Clay and Clarissa Mango finished 127th and 128th, respectively.
Host Hamilton College won the team overall with 33 points.
