WADHAMS — The Boquet River Association is hosting a four-mile Cookie Run, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. The run will begin and end at the intersection of NYS Route 22 and County Route 10. All registered runners will receive a large baked cookie. Category winners earn a homemade pie as well. Overall male and female winners collect a BRASS hat. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with a $10 entry fee. Event proceeds go to BRASS, an organization dedicated to the enhancing the quality of water and life in the Boquet River watershed. hoops Kids’ Nite Out
PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State women’s basketball team is hosting a Kid’s Nite Out event Saturday, October 13 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at the Memorial Hall gymnasium. Activities include sports, games, arts and crafts, movies, and swimming. The cost is $10 per child with a family rate of $7 for each additional sibling. air rifle match
PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club recently held a National Rifle Associate 40 shot air rifle match. The winner was Peter Visconti, who fired a 375 out of a possible 400. Second-place went to his wife, Karen Visconti, who fired a personal best of 348. Norbert Yakey concluded the podium with 334 points. The club’s next major competition will take place December 1. PERU — Sixty players took to the trees for the third annual Leo P. Bourgeois Memorial Golf Tournament at the Adirondack Golf Club on September 28. More than $3,000 was raised by golfers for the scholarship established in Bourgeois’ memory for deserving Peru Central School seniors.
Lena Dashnaw and her teammates Larry Delong, Joe Koscak, and Tom Wood were awarded first place honors with a low gross score of 61. Claiming second place with a low grosss score of 63 was Stan Riggs, Frank Boissey, Tom Quesnell, and Gary Ryan. Riggs and Barb Lacombe-McGee won closest to the pin for the men and women, respectively. Elizabeth Bazzano and Scott Bazzano of the Twin Ponds team claimed honors for driving closest to the line. Four skins were awarded; one each to the Giroux’s for the lowest score on hole six, the McGee’s team, the Dashnaw team, and the Nap Light team.
