DELAWARE, Ohio — In her first of two scheduled events at the NCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Plattsburgh State sophomore Jess Huber lined up in the starting blocks against 21 other national qualifiers in the preliminary heats of the 200-meter dash at Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday night.
Huber, who is the Plattsburgh record holder (24.43 seconds) and the defending SUNY Athletic Conference champion in the 200, finished 16th in the opening heats with a time of 24.72. The top eight qualified for the finals.
Huber will continue her slate of events tonight when she runs in the qualifying heats of the 100 dash. If Huber can post one of the top eight times in the 22-woman field, she will move on to the finals scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
