Chazy upends Westport in MVAC baseball

WESTPORT — Chazy broke a 6-all tie in the bottom of the sixth inning on a run-scoring double by Hayden Guay and Josh Barriere’s two-run single on the way to a 9-6 victory over Westport in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference baseball on Wednesday afternoon.

The game was the completion of an earlier suspended contest that was tied, at 4-all, in the fifth inning.

Guay, who picked up the pitching win in relief, accounted for two of the five Chazy hits, with Barriere, Alec LaPierre and Austin Gravelle getting the others. Gravelle had a two-run single in the second inning and LaPierre a RBI hit in the fifth.
