Kokes helps Northeastern Clinton narrowly edge Plattsburgh

ROUSES POINT — Chris Kokes was the medalist with a 40 and Cole Pinsonneault won the fifth match by a stroke as Northeastern Clinton defeated Plattsburgh High 3½ - 2½ in a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference match Tuesday at North Country Golf Club.

Kokes won the No. 2 match, and Curtis Bosley gave the Cougars a victory at No. 4. Northeastern Clinton’s Jordan LaMere halved with Matt Svarplaitis.

Jeremy Davies carded Plattsburgh’s low score (49) to win the sixth match, and Walker Gosrich also picked up a win.

No. 1- LaMere (NCCS) and Svarplaitis halved, 50-50. No. 2- Kokes (NCCS) def. Messner, 40-50. No. 3- Gosrich (PHS) def. Snide, 52-58. No. 4- Bosley (NCCS) def. Stetz, 50-53. No. 5- Pinsonneault (NCCS) def. Evans, 52-53. No. 6- Davies (PHS) def. Barcomb, 49-52.

LAKE PLACID — Kiefer Casler fired a 38 for the low score of the day as the Blue Bombers picked up two victories at Craig Wood Golf Course.

Pat Kane shot a 40 in the fifth match, and Bjorn Kroes, Miles Lussi, Ryan Kane and Lucas Strack also earned wins against Seton Catholic.

Joe Zalis led the Knights with a 46.

AuSable Valley’s Nate Devins picked up his team’s only point by defeating Kroes in match No. 1 with a score of 41.

PORT HENRY — Joe Stahl was the low man with a 38 and won the first match to lead the Vikings.

Dylan Scozzafava fired a 40 in match No. 2, and Kyle Wilson, Brandon Hammond and John Barassard were also victorious for Moriah.
