Miller shoots 43 as Peru golfers stay unbeaten

PERU — Kyle Miller was medalist with a 43 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club as Peru remained unbeaten with a 4½-1½ victory over Plattsburgh High in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference golf.

Tyler Lemza, who carded a 45, Matt Nugent and Gavin Plimpton also won matches for the Indians (7-0).

The Hornets picked up their lone win of the day when Matt Svarplaitis edged Peru’s Jordan Guay 45-46 in the No. 1 match.

The No. 3 match between Peru’s Christian Mattila and Plattsburgh’s Walker Gosrich was halved.

Against Beekmantown, Jake Messner, Walker Gosrich, J.D. Side and Mike Stetz won matches to lead the Hornets past the Eagles 4-2.

Svarplaitis’ 45 was the low round for Plattsburgh, but he lost his No. 1 match to the Eagles’ Alex Faruqi, who was the medalist with a 44.

Evan Dyke picked up Beekmantown’s other victory with his first career win.

ROUSES POINT — It couldn’t get much closer between the Cougars and Chiefs.

Chris Kokes (44), Matt Snide (47) and Cole Pinsonneault (50) won their matches for Northeastern Clinton and also shot solid scores to help the Cougars win the tiebreaker.

Austin LaDieu (42), Jarrett Wright (45) and Kellen Louis (53) won matches for Saranac, with LaDieu being the medalist at the North Country Golf Club.
