Both Peru teams beat Seton Catholic in track & field

PLATTSBURGH — Peru recorded a sweep of Seton Catholic in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference track and field Thursday, with the boys winning 78-42 and the girls prevailing 75-56.

In the boys’ meet, Cory Rock was a four-time winner for Peru, taking the long jump, 100-meter dash, 400 relay and 200 dash.

Jared Banker won on three occasions for the Indians, scoring victories in the 110 hurdles, 400 dash and 1,600.

Evan Page won a trio of events (3,200 relay, 800 and 1,600) to pace Seton Catholic. Cody Quantock swept the throws.

On the girls’ side, Lea Perry was a three-time winner for Peru, claiming wins in the 100 hurdles, high jump and triple jump.

Margaret Champagne, Ashley Leta and Melissa Whyman were each three-time winners to lead the Knights.

CHAMPLAIN — The Emus were boosted by four event wins from Arto Nadeau on the boys side on their way to a 90-40 victory over the Cougars.

Nadeau was a part of the winning 1,600 relay team that finished with a time of 3:55.4. He also picked up three individual victories, taking first place in the 100, 200 and 400.
