Wolf has 5 RBI as Crown Point takes down Schroon Lake

CROWN POINT — Amanda Wolf accounted for three hits and five runs-batted-in Wednesday afternoon to power Crown Point to a 15-5 win over Schroon Lake in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference softball.

Brittany Foote added a double and single, while Mara Vradenburg had two singles for the Panthers.

Crown Point trailed, 4-3, after one inning and, 5-4, after two before taking the lead for good with six runs in the third.

Maria Malone struck out seven in picking up the pitching win and Molly Wisser took the loss.

Dakota Gadway and Katie Botterbush paced the Wildcats with two hits each, with Gadway getting a double. Schroon Lake had four extra-base hits, with Julianna Finnerty belting a home run.

BEEKMANTOWN 12, MORIAH 6

PORT HENRY — Evelyn Vicencio put on a dominating performance Tuesday afternoon.

The senior tossed a five-hitter for the pitching win and accounted for three hits, including a home run and four runs scored, to lead Beekmantown to a 12-6 victory over Moriah in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play.

“Evelyn hadn’t pitched in a long time and she did a fantastic job,” Beekmantown coach Joni Moschelle said. “She also hit a long home run. We were all excited for her.”

Lexi Desrocher also had three hits for the Eagles, who pulled away with three runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Losing pitcher Taylor Sprague’s double was one of the five hits for the Vikings.
