NCCS roars past AuSable Valley in CVAC tennis

CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton girls’ tennis team wasted no time with AuSable Valley Tuesday.

Abbie Miller, Aurora Slater, Alexa Sorrell, Andrea Mossey, Aryana Kellison, Sarah Babbie and Ashley Boire each took part in match wins, helping the Cougars to a 5-0 victory in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play.

Miller defeated Ashley Guynup to take No. 1 singles, 6-3 and 6-0. Slater helped Northeastern Clinton go 2-for-2, upending Madison Hall, 6-3 and 6-0.

Sorrell completed the singles sweep when she beat Katherine McDonald, 6-0 and 6-1.

On the doubles side, Mossey and Kellison took out Brianna Savage and Joellen LaDieu, 6-0 and 6-3. Babbie and Boire knocked off Hannah Lawrence and Emily McDonald in No. 2 doubles, 6-3 and 6-4.

The Cougars outscored the Patriots in the five-match sweep, 60-17.

No. 2- Babbie/Boire (NCCS) def. Lawrence/E. McDonald, 6-3, 6-4.
