Jared Banker 3-time winner for Peru
PERU — Jared Banker captured three firsts for Peru Thursday in a 70-61 loss to Plattsburgh High in Champlain Valley Athletic boys’ track & field.
Banker won the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles, and added a first in the 1,600-meter relay.
It was incorrectly reported that Andrew Banker was a triple-winner in Sunday’s Press-Republican.
‘Help to Heal a Heart’ run-walk May 24
AUSABLE FORKS — The “Help to Heal a Heart” 5K run-walk will occur at the Town of Jay Community Center May 24.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. The 5K run is scheduled for 8:30 a.m., while the 5K walk is at 9 a.m. and the kiddie dash at 10:30 a.m.
The entry fee is $15 for those pre-registered by May 10, while it’s $20 after and the day of the event. Students 18 and under are $5 for pre-registration by May 15 or $10 after and the day of the event. The kiddie dash, which features children 2 to 11 years old, is $5.
Pre-registration will be held at the Town of Black Brook Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 3.
The run-walk features a commemorative t-shirt, raffle prizes, awards to the top-three runners, multiple water stops and a clock at mile one and two.
Jump Camp applications available
BEEKMANTOWN — The 14th Annual Jump Camp will be held at Beekmantown Central School for athletes entering grades 7 through 12 for the 2014-15 school year June 23 to Aug. 14.
Jump Camp is an affordable eight-week athletic development program designed to prepare athletes for school sports. Workouts are performed on Mondays and Thursdays and typically last two hours. Morning and evening sessions are available.
Out-of-district athletes and college athletes are welcome. Applications are available online at the Beekmantown Central School website, bcsdk12.org, under athletics.

Summer youth bowling meeting slated
PLATTSBURGH — North Bowl Lanes is interested in running a Summer Youth League.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. May 14. The proposal includes three youth bowlers on each team and would be 10 to 12 weeks long.
The challenge and or sport lane patterns would change every third week.
If interested, bowlers can sign up at the counter of North Bowl Lanes.
