PSU lacrosse rolls past Oneonta, clinches third seed

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State men’s lacrosse team, with a SUNY Athletic Conference Tournament playoff spot on the line, wasted little time stating its case Wednesday afternoon.

The Cardinals (11-5, 3-2) jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first period and never looked back in a 22-4 rout of Oneonta (4-10, 2-3) at the Plattsburgh State Field House Lacrosse Complex to clinch the third seed in the conference tournament.

Robbie Ashlaw tallied five goals and added three assists to lead the way for Plattsburgh, which took a commanding 14-2 advantage at the half.

Ashlaw scored three of his goals in the first period, while Felter, Renko, Damm and Read also scored to power the Cardinals to a 7-0 lead.
