New walking program introduced
PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh’s new walking program, “Easy…Like a Walk in the Park,” is available to all ages.
Participants will receive a pedometer and walk with supportive groups each day. Different routes will be mapped out for each session, all beginning and ending at the Cadyville recreation park.
The program will be May 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Those interested can register online at www.townofplattsburghrecreation.com or call the Recreation Department at 562-6860 between 8 a.m., and 4 p.m.
Self-defense karate tournament June 7
REDFORD — A self-defense karate tournament will be held in Redford at the Parish Hall June 7.

ADK holds ‘Wednesday Walk About Town’
PLATTSBURGH — Join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club for their ‘Wednesday Walk About Town’ on May 30. Meet at 3 p.m. on the steps of City Hall for a walk around a Plattsburgh neighborhood. The last ‘Walk About Town’ will be on May 7. The event leader will be Lynn Valenti.
Tuesday’s PSUbaseball game postponed
PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State baseball team has been forced to postpone its Tuesday nonconference game at Lyndon State.
The teams were originally scheduled to play one nine-inning game at 3 p.m. from the Skip Pound Baseball Complex on the campus of Lyndon State University. No make-up date has been announced.
The Cardinals’ will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they host Liberty League and North Country rival St. Lawrence University for a single nine-inning game at Chip Cummings Field at 4 p.m.
