Roenbeck powers Mariners past Lynx

“I really believe our hitting is going to come around,” Tolosky said. “You saw part of that tonight with Chris, who was phenomenal.”

Roenbeck, who finished with five RBI, added a solo homer in the second. In the third, Clinton County cut its deficit to 6-4 with three runs on a walk to Adam Goldfarb and singles by Knowles, Logan Recor and Rascoe.

Roenbeck led the Mariners with three hits, while seven other Clinton County players each had a hit.

“Chris had a huge game, but we were also able to get contributions from different players throughout the lineup and that’s the way we’ve envisioned it,” Tolosky said.

“Defensively, Mitchell Cunningham played a great game at third base.”

The Mariners return to the diamond today with a 6 p.m. game at the Norfolk Rovers.
