---- — North Country Golf Club hosts junior golf series

ROUSES POINT — The North Country Golf Club will host an eight-week junior golf series to promote junior golf.

Cost to junior members of the North Country Gulf Club is free. Cost to non-members of the club is $10 per event.

The junior series will be administered by club golf professional Dustin Beauregard.

2013 Junior Golf Series Schedule

June 19- Father/Son Championship (mothers, grandparents, aunts and uncles all qualify), July 6- Firecracker Classic, July 14- Match Play Championship, July 28- Mid-Summer Major (double points), August 11- Junior Scramble, August 17- Challenge Cup, August 23- North Country Golf Club Junior Club Championship (double points), August 24, 25- Club Championship (junior points champion only).

Divisions: Red Division (ages 10-13), Yellow Division (ages 14-15), White Division (ages 16-18) and Blue Division (ages 19-23).

Points Distribution: First-place 100 points, second-place 75 points, third-place 50 points, fourth-place 25 points, fifth-place 10 points, sixth-place and on five points.

Adirondack Power Challenge deadline is April 27

LAKE PLACID — The deadline to enter the WNPF Adirondack Power Challenge is April 27.

This power lifting event will be held May 18 at the Fitness Revolution in Lake Placid.

The events will include power lifting, squat only, bench only, dead lift only, ironman and power curl.

Divisions include youth, teens, juniors, sub-master, master, Special Olympian and police/fire/military.

Softball doubleheader suspended, scheduled to resume today

PLATTSBURGH — Game one of the Plattsburgh State softball team’s State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) softball doubleheader at Potsdam was suspended in the top of the second inning Saturday due to inclement weather.

The doubleheader will resume today at noon. Game one will begin in the top of the second and will be followed by game two.
