Beekmantown girls hockey meeting July 16

BEEKMANTOWN — Parents of girls’ high school hockey players from Beekmantown, Chazy and Northeastern Clinton who are planning to play in the 2014-15 season are invited to the Beekmantown High School cafeteria at 6 p.m. July 16 to discuss the team’s upcoming season and the future of the Lady Eagles Booster Club. The coaches will be Ray Guay, Todd Bone and Roger Guay.

Rhodes records hole-in-one

PLATTSBURGH — Bill Rhodes recorded a hole-in-one July 9 from 104 yards on the ninth hole. Joe Furnia, Bill Kennedy and Craig Wyman witnessed the shot.

Fish & Game Clubs to meet July 14

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Federation of Fish and Game Clubs will meet at 5 p.m. July 14 at the Fair Grounds to help setup for the fair.

Piller edges Duniho in time trial

POINT AU ROCHE — Jack Piller edged out course record holder Kevin Duniho by six seconds in the latest bicycle time trial. Piller finished in 22 minutes, 32 seconds in warm and windy conditions. Lynne Murray was the fastest female rider, posting a time of 27:02.

The time trials take place on Wednesday nights at the Point au Roche firehouse on the Lakeshore Rd. The event is open to all novice and experienced riders, road bikes or mountain bikes. Helmets are mandatory, and all riders must obey the rules of the road.Registration begins around 5:30 p.m. with the first rider going out at 6 p.m. Riders interested in the 25-mile event should be prepared to start between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m.

Kehoe aces No. 9 at Bluff Point

PLATTSBURGH — Kevin Kehoe had a hole-in-one on No. 9 at Bluff Point Golf Resort July 1. He made the 127-yard shot with a 9-iron, and it was witnessed by Bob Prescott, Chip Wyand and Glen DeForge.
